I loved the romance that developed between Giovanni and Lucy, and it was so refreshing and satisfying to read a love so honestly and pure and true. Gods Truth was woken throughout the story as Giovanni and Lucy had to learn to trust Him in every situation, as well as with their own hearts and personal growth. The scenes around the Castello dinner table were very fun and endearing.

I could not put this book down and read it in a day and a half. It is beautifully written and a feel good book. It's refreshing to read something happy for a change. It's a great story with two beautiful main characters set in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Messina in 1908.. I can't wait for Book 2 to be published. I highly recommend this book.
A remarkable historical fiction novel that should come with a warning! Once you start reading you won't be able to stop! This is a very vivid account of a tragedy I knew nothing about and now I feel as if I was there and am part of a very special family. It is a beautiful, tragic, triumphant and at times humorous story.

I'm in love with Giovanni and the Costello family. Miss James is my hero. The events in this book are described so perfectly detailed that they will chill you to your bones. The story is very real and very tragic yet very romantic and above all spiritual. I can't wait to read the next book!
